THE POWER OF BEING THANKFUL: Part 3/3

Be thankful to God in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.
1Thessalonians 5:18

It is never God’s will for us to walk through difficult times, God doesn’t bring evil to us so we can’t thank Him for it. I did not understand this verse the first time I read it in the Bible, I asked myself, “Why do I have to thank God for the bad things that happen to me?”. Though I have heard many people say: “In all things lets give thanks to God”, as I kept meditating on this verse, God gave me an understanding to it, and that is what I have been sharing with you in the previous parts of this article and probably this one too.

God does not bring evil into our lives, but as we live in an evil world we may come across hard times. The bible teaches us to be thankful in all circumstances, in all our situations. We always thank God when we are in good times, for example, when we pass an exam we say “Thank you God” because we believe God made us pass, this is the same attitude we must have when we face bad times as well, this time we are not thanking God for the bad thing we are facing, but we are telling Him He is our only Hope, and only Him can save us.

When we learn to live a life of thankfulness, we will always feel hopeful and experience God’s fullness in our lives.

There are people who start blaming people or themselves when they face difficulties, but as believers, we do not have to blame people or ourselves, we only have to depend on God and rely completely in Him.

Being thankful is one way of experiencing the hand of God in our life. Beloved, whatever your worries are, remember that God cares about them, God has the answer to every question and He has the solution to every problem.

My friend, as you are reading this you may be going through a very difficult time in your life, or a friend/relative of yours may be going through a difficult time in life, be encouraged and believe that God is your refuge and with Him on your side nothing can be against you.

Friends may discourage you, but remember God will never fail you, He is true to His words.

So live a life of thankfulness, have faith in God, do not look at the sympthoms of your disease, look at God, stay focused and believe that God will never fail you.

Do you need something? Job, peace, strength, happiness, whatever it is, start telling God about it, though our prayers may not be answered quickly but believe that God knows what is best for you.

Smile, live everyday being faithful to God, God loves you.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I thank you for your love and protection over my life. Continue to teach me your ways, and teach me to rely on you always. Amen.
